Ozarks Water Watch

Ozarks Water Watch is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote water quality in the upper White River watershed through bi-state collaboration on research, education, public policy, and action projects. The focus of the organization is on the four major impoundments on the Upper White River in Arkansas and Missouri: Beaver, Table Rock, Taneycomo, and Bull Shoals Lakes and the rivers and streams which drain into these impoundments. The organization works with agencies, stakeholders, and interested citizen groups as an advocate for clean water by serving as a community educator and leading projects to protect water quality. Beaver LakeSmart

Beaver LakeSmart is a program administered by Ozarks Water Watch based in Northwest Arkansas. The program strives to protect Beaver Lake and its watershed through monitoring, outreach, and education. In addition, education and guidance in best management practices is provided to all who live, work, or play on Beaver Lake or in the Beaver Lake Watershed. The vision of Beaver LakeSmart is for everyone to value Beaver Lake and its watershed as a critical resource to the community for water supply, economic growth, and quality of life. Washington County League of Women Voters Program: One Region, Two Watersheds

This program was presented in 2013 as part of an issues series with the Washington County League of Women Voters. I was invited to speak to represent Ozarks Water Watch and the Upper White River. Here I talk about issues facing the Upper White River and introduce our organization in a public forum.
