Sunday, I decided to get out and walk Shaddox Hollow at Hobbs State Park. I had not walked this trail since late November. Spring is definitely coming along at Hobbs. The Shaddox Hollow Trail is a 1.5 mile hike that takes you through the hollow and then up along the ridge line, my preferred direction. I'd rather get down in the hollow quickly rather than having a steep climb at the end of the hike. So I always take the downslope first. One of the best parts of the hike was most of the ephemeral streams were running, providing a lovely background serenade to the area. Water was moving throughout in the valley, seeping out of rocks and moving through the park, emerging on the surface before seeping underground, only to flow again just a little further downstream. There were many wildflowers out and the dogwoods were also starting bloom. It was a nice hike on Sunday.
